SOLAR POOL & SPA HEATING:
In Northern California proper sizing of the solar hot water collectors is usually equal to one half the surface area of the pool. Solar collectors for heating pools and spas are made of polypropylene coplolymer. UV inhibitors and antioxidants are integrated into the copolymer
to make the panels resistant to ultraviolet rays from the sun and to oxidation due to pool chemicals and other environmental factors. The panels are installed using UV protected hold down straps and butterfly brackets. The headers of adjacent panels are joined together using
the two 4" EPDM couplers and the four stainless steel band clamps provided in the panel kits.
These kits also include two butterfly brackets for the hold down strap and an additional SS clamp with an outlet headrer bracket. Up to 12 panels may be installed with a single feed and return. A system kit provides the feed and return adapters along with two 7" couplers, a vacuum breaker, an end cap and two butterflys and four clamps for the hold down strap. The hold down strap is sold separately in 54" and 107" lengths. The 107" is enough for 12 collectors. If
the panels are installed in more than one row, then each row would require a system kit. Max fluid pressure 85 psi @ 80 degrees F. Max flow rate 10gpm and min 2.5gpm, 0.1gpm/sq ft of
collector area recommended. 10 year warranty. Leaky riser may be repaired on site using
special repair plugs that preserve the appearance of the panels.

HOT TUB:
Roof Mount, drain back. Collector is mounted on the roof, when controller senses hotter temperature at the collector, the hot tub circulating pump turns on, water goes thru the panel, heats up and returns to the hot tub. When the hot tub has reached its high temperature limit or the collector temperature is lower than the hot tub, the pump turns off and the water flows back into the tub. This protects the collector from freezing.
Hot Tub Roof Mount Kit: One 4'x10' glazed collector, flush mount, two blind unions, ST-100 control set to 105 degrees F, two differential, one upper limit sensors, air vent, collector pump with unions. $1045.00.
Hot Tub Ground Mount Kit: Same collector as above, add heat exchanger, expansion tank, pressure gauge, pumps, controller, relief assembly and drain cock. This is a non freezing, glycol system.
